    PCB measurement microphone

When you need to conduct electrical noise tests, automotive NVH testing, building acoustics, sound power, noise analysis, and other experiments, a measurement microphone is an essential sensor.

Unlike general singing microphones, measurement microphones are specifically designed for acoustic testing, noise, and vibration.

PCB is a world-renowned microphone manufacturer, offering 100% in-house research, design, and manufacturing. They provide a range of microphones including capacitive, modern pre-polarized, traditional externally polarized, array, probe, thin surface, and other specialized microphones, as well as preamplifiers and accessories.

    Why choose PCB test microphones?

    1. 30 years of experience in acoustic research and manufacturing

PCB has over 30 years of experience in acoustic design and manufacturing, dedicated to creating high-quality acoustic products at reasonable prices.

    2. High quality, competitive pricing, and fast delivery times

PCB microphones insist on using the highest quality materials and components. While other sensor manufacturers increasingly outsource their manufacturing, PCB chooses to continue investing in employee training and ongoing optimization of internal CNC processing equipment. This allows PCB to control all factors affecting quality and delivery. Their quality is demonstrated by certifications and specifications from Apple and numerous other laboratories.

    3. A progressively expanding product line

PCB evaluates the broad acoustic market eachyear, and their current product line now meets the needs of various major
    application areas.

    4. Complete calibration report

PCB provides a complete calibration report witheach microphone shipment. Their calibration laboratory is accredited to the highest laboratory standards by A2LA in the United States (mutually recognized with Taiwan's TAF).

    Choosing a microphone

    Free field type

Free-field microphones are designed for environments with minimal reflections. They are ideal for outdoor applications and anechoic chamber testing. Common free-field tests include automotive pass-by measurements, speaker testing, equipment noise measurement, and disk drive sound assessment.

    Pressure Type Microphones

Pressure type microphones are specially designed to be flush-mounted on surfaces at the boundaries of sound fields. This allows for precise measurement of sound pressure in ducts, wind tunnels, and couplers. They are particularly well-suited as reference microphones due to their design, which ensures a very flat frequency response within sound couplers or calibrators. Most ear simulator applications also require pressure type microphones.

    Random-Incidence Microphones

Random-incidence microphones are designed for use in environments where sound can come from any direction. These microphones are best suited for measurements in reverberant rooms and many indoor noise applications. They are ideal for indoor acoustics as well as for measuring noise in aircraft and automotive cabins.

    Array Microphones

Pre-polarized ICP® array microphones offer a high cost-performance ratio, serving as an economical alternative to high-end test and measurement microphones. They are suitable for large array configurations and cost-effective applications.

    Low-Noise Microphones

PCB's low-noise microphones offer exceptionalperformance with a self-noise level as low as 7 dB. They use a pre-polarized design, eliminating the need for an external 220V amplifier. This makes the 378A04 significantly more cost-effective and convenient compared to competitors.
Additionally, it has been selected as a designated sensor for product testing by Apple.

    Flat Microphone

PCB® surface microphones are an excellent choice for measuring true surface pressure and noise. We have optimized the design of surface microphones and vibration pads to reduce noise caused by wind during testing. They can be mounted on flat or curved surfaces. With a compact form factor, they enable noise measurement in places where traditional microphones are not suitable. The waterproof and dustproof mesh grid cover protects critical microphone components, making it an ideal choice for dirty and other harsh environments.
